New Wally Receiver to Launch March 17th

Sorry, I've been crazy busy lately. Been living with my parents while we remodel our house.

My condolences . I remember having to live with my parents three times in between 90 and 93, due to job changes, losses, etc. It was a total nightmare. Suddenly I was no longer a 30 year old man , who had lived on his own since he was 18. I was now a child again. "As long as you live under my roof....." was the saying of the day. Forget about going out and socializing or dating, etc. Be in the house by 10:00pm before he went to bed. I finally filed chapter 13 bankruptcy to get out of my college related debts and other debts ,when I was out of work and or changing jobs, so I could afford to live on my own again. I basically consolidated everything to a smaller note and paid it back over 3 years. Hope you get your house remodeled as soon as possible.

It's not too bad for me. I have a family so my wife and kids are there too. There's plenty of room so we are able to have space when needed. It's been two weeks so far and has gone fast but I don't know when it will be done. Looking like another 2-3 weeks.

Dead almost two decades. Was dead in New Orleans heat about a week before her neighbors complained. No a/c.

I am appalled at that revelation. :crying I lost my mother much more recently. But I guess her death was as bad or worse. [graphic description edited away since it's so far off topic]

Not compatible with any other receiver family, And not compatible with the Hybrid LNB.

So much for 16 wallys.....
And so much for a person using one as a traveler with a Hopper account

Guess your also limited to 3 per account, unless you want DPP44s on your house.

What does this mean?

- The Wally can only be paired with other Wallys and cannot be combined with other receiver families on the same account.

It can not be put on an account that has other receivers on it at all? Why would that be, and how can they call this a replacement for the 211 series? It says it's Tailgater compatible on Dish's site, you would think it could be added to anything like the 211's then.

Do we need DIRT to make sense of this nonsense?

I guess it was typical launch day follies at DN. I spoke to 4 different people yesterday evening, and got 4 different astoundingly stupid response problems. I have a short fuse, and can not tolerate dumb for long. So I tend to recycle or escalate agents pretty quickly. :censored

First I was told, the Wally will not work with my dish on my house. This was after I clearly stated this was to be added to my account which has a Hopper WS and 3 Joeys, and I have a 211K currently on my account for my RV. I use the 211K with either a Winegard Pathway X1 or a new Tailgater (the dark grey dome one), and want to add the Wally to my RV so I can have 2 receivers in it. After I repeatedly questioned why, and pointed out that on their site it says it is supposed to work with the Tailgater at minimum, that person's conversation ended with they will have to come install it. I reached my maximum dumb level and hung up.

Second agent I got a hold of actually tried every which way to sell me one, but "the system" kept fighting her and wouldn't allow it. She first blamed it was because the Wally can not be put on an account with any other receivers (see last post and question). I said well wait, how can that be if this is supposed to be a replacement for the 211 series receivers? How would anyone be able to make use of it as current customers if they can not add it to their account, isn't that pretty stupid? She agreed and "called another department" who said she should be able to. Then the finger of blame pointed at, "Well the system might still be getting upgraded to handle this so I might need to try back later". Ok, fine.

Third agent an hour later came right out with I can not use it. At this point I had dispensed with pretty much everything and only had said I want to order it to use with my new Tailgater. Nope, will not work. Again, I pointed at the site and said how can that be? She was clueless, wasn't sure and that went on to the fourth person in an escalation.

The fourth person, a "supervisor" got on and said, yeah you're right, this should work with the Tailgater, apologized some and then told me I'll have to go to a retailer to get one. I said why is it so darn hard to spend money with you people?

Then I went to Dish Depot from the link a littler earlier in this thread, and got the answers I needed ASAP and after hours to boot via email. Talk about excellent service. Needless to say, it's ordered and hopefully will get shipped out today. :biggrin

Well what did Dish depot have to say?,
because their link is the one that claims No Wallys on a Hopper account .
And that it won't work on a hybrid system, even though the Hybrid is both DPP and DPH.
So they sold you a Wally anyway?
You still have to get it activated through dish.
