Hi all. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have an existing Dish Network 500 dish mounted on top of the house I just rented. The cables from the dish were cut to allow for cable tv to connect. I was wondering if it were possible to use the existing dish by unhooking the cable and hooking the Dish line back up. Are there any grounding issues i would need to address for the dish? A friend of mine is going to give me a Coolsat 4000 Pro. Any help would be appriciated since I am new to the FTA game. Thanks!

Well, you would still need to ground the line.

Glad you saw the sticky on the dish500 setups.

You can remove that small dish and put a 30"+ dish in its place.
Then you can use an FTA receiver to view the FTA channels.

Actually, that's not a bad idea at all.
It's installing the mount and running the wiring that's the big pain.
You've got 75% of the job already done for you. :)
