Hello, I'm new to the hobby and could use some help getting my skybox f3 going. I got a free directv slimline multi-satellite ka/ku lnb. If some one could point me in the right way I would really appreciate it. Im have no clue where to start. Thanks.

First thing you will need is a dish that will work. The DTV dish will not work at all for FTA.(unless heavily modified). Since you are new to this I would not reccomend trying to modify that dish. You will need a 30" or bigger dish and a linear LNBF for KU signals. There is a lot of good info to read in the FAQS FTA / MPEG2 FAQ's

Welcome to the forum :)

:welcome deepsnipe, I answered you PM.

Thanks for all the help. Got a new Dish on the way. GEOSAT pro 36" dish and GEOSATpro SL1PLL Linear HD LNBF

Good deal, you will be very happy.
