I just order a set of the FTA satellite parts from Sadoun. However, I can get any signal at all.

I try Galaxy 10R 11805H SR4580 (which suggested by a good guy in Canada). If I use the new software which downloaded from Twinhan, I always get 0% 0%. But If i use the orginal disk which come in the box. I will get arround 40% singal and 32% quality. But still not able to find any channel.

Please get me any suggestion. Help Help

My Setting:
Invacom Universal Single Ku 0.3 dB LNBF SNH-031
Fortec Star 36" (90 cm)
VisionDTV (StarBox) USB
Location: USA Los Angeles CA91706

Moved to PC DVB area!

I would double check your LNBF L.O. on each version and make sure its set to....

9750-10600

Hi TiminMb,

i tried the new Drivers on my 102g & got the some thing. i had to go back to the original drivers. i dunno why its doing that:confused: .

Jack....What software are you using? Mytheater, DVDdream, Ritz or other?

First off, find a good video codec pack and install. do a google search and you should find one. sounds like you should use the old drivers. update the drivers with the old ones and restart. I would suggest using 11799V and 26657SR. The problems with the channels that are on 11805 is that they are numbered channels (i.e., chan 1, 2, 3) and sometimes, Mytheater or other software just shows a blank when scanned. 32% qual is par with what you should get with a stronger signal. I usually get 19% qual with other weaker transponders with no picture breakups at all. This is common for the twinhan cards, they actually show quite alot less quality than a settop receiver. For instance my receiver shows 75% qual on the mux on 11799, but only 20% on the twinhan. It sounds like to me that you don't have video codecs installed so try this. http://www.codec-download.com/

it has intervideo and cyberlink, which are most popular. let me know how it works out I should be online later tonight.

PCI and usb receivers are tricky at best, but once you figure them out, you can't beat them for HDTV coversion and PVR capabilities. Don't give up.

Hi Sharris,

What codec should I use? I am using Storm codec pack at this moment. Should I pick another one?

Thanks.

As long as the codec pack has the majors i.e., nvidea, intervideo etc.. you should be OK. What program are you using i.e., myutheater, ritz, dvbdream?

I am using the new software from Twinhan, 2.067. should I use another one? what drivers version are u using? and what software and version are you using?

I hate to say it, but the software provided by Twinhan sux. download Mytheater, Ritz or DVBdream. All programs are shareware/freeware with the exception of Mytheater which shutsdown after an hour. When I first got my twinhan I used the software as well and it took some time to get it up and running. I found Mytheater to be the best and paid the 40$ so it wouldn't shut down after an hour. http://www.dvbcore.com/

You can download Mytheater at the link above. Ritz DVB: http://www.ritzdvb.com/
or
http://dvbsoft.net/download.php for alot of software.

download and tryout. I see you have picked up a coolsat, so after you get that going, try this soft.

Thank Sharris,

Actually, I rather use the starbox instead of the coolsat, coz I have a mediacenter which connected to my TV. Beside, that will be nice if you can tell me the storm codec which I use is good enough or not. or please suggest which codec I should download.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Just want to share I am now able to get the Coolsat and the Starbox (with the latest 2.608a) working with G10R. But I am not happy with the Twinhan software. So, I trying to get Mytheater to work. I am able to search the channel but I am not able to view the TV. I just get a black screen with no sound. Same result with the ProgDVB.

I think is the codec I use is wrong. Please get me some suggestion what codec I should use.

The codec I have install is ATI DVD decoder (which come with my HDTV wonder). Also try trial version of Nvidia PureVideo Decoder.

Beside, I would like to share my experience of setting up the Starbox. Please feel free to ask me questions.

One suggestion for Newbie, If you are new to FTA, try to get the Set top box insteac of PCI or usb Card. Save you a lot of time and able to gain more knowledge before you make Satellite working with computer.

Thanks.
