I am kinda new to all this and i had i question that i could either pay 19.95$ to call to expressvu or just ask u.....hmmm i wonder who i chose!

U guys rock .......... so to the question i was wondering..

i have a dish and a ird (2700) and i wanted to set up the dish i live really close to ottawa and was wonder if i found a compas what degrees would i point the dish in and how high of the ground and thats all.... thanx u rock :)

hey i am a newb remeber i have no idea how to ;"look at the magnetic deviation map and adjust the compas reading" could u help???

For your location, whatever the compass setting is, then ADD 14 to it.

So 215 becomes 229. So with your compass pointer sitting on 180, you have to point your dish in the direction of 229.

That means your dish has to point 14' more WEST.

The 'UP ANGLE' or elevation should be 35.5.

You will have to play with the angles, but this should get you 'close'.

Here is the Installation guide:

http://www.expressvu.com/en/tools/instal/selfins/install.pdf

I don't know if the guide takes into acount mag. deviation or not.

just drive around and see where others are pointing their dish, do the same and your set.
