Thoughts on the early NFL action:

1. Shannon Sharpe had the line of the day...to paraphrase "these teams look like they haven't played 4 quarters ever...much less 4 pre-season games".

2. At least Jake Delhomme looked to be in playoff form...um, what's that...oh!...nevermind.

3. Saints defense looks the same as last year....mediocre

4. Note to the Bengals...KNOCK IT DOWN!!!!

Right now, the big headlines of the early games are the sensational individual performances by Adrian Peterson (180 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Drew Brees (6 touchdown passes, something Bill is familiar with), the stunning finish of the Broncos/Bengals game, and the Jets shutting down the heralded Houston Texan offense (I'm sure Sandra will be happy about that).

(On another note- this has been a rough weekend for HD and his teams.)

Browns looked like last years Chiefs team. 4th quarter comes and the conditioning isn't there to keep them going and teams just pull (further) away.

Baltimore called a timeout, a long one too, multiple commercials, all that jazz, they came back, the Chiefs lined up, and had to call a timeout or there'd have been a delay of game on KC.

Cutler looked horrable. Bathtism by fire. Two of his picks were, where no one was at. I think he needs to get his eyes checked. Brian being out of the Defence really hurt. Aron, also got lucky on his game winning td pass, but that was a mismatch. Lovies got to be pissed about this game! We looked totally worse than what we are!

Heh, game winning pass wasn't luck, it was poor defensive play. That play happened exactly as it was designed. Play action go deep. probably had a check down guy for the easier first down, but if the big play is there you take it. The Bear in pursuit couldn't even watch him go in, he hung his head for the last 15 yards of it.

Both teams played poorly, Packers were just the better one today.

It was 3rd and 1 actually inches, and the saftey bit on the run and the recvr ran right by the D covering him.

I agree. I called that one before the snap. Perfect opportunity to catch them napping, and even if it doesn't work GB still has 4th down to get the one yard for the first down.

Cutler is an improvement over Orton, but I've always thought he was overrated (nothing like a little Monday morning QB).
