NFL 2025-2026 Season

We were at Mrs. Foxbat's company's Holiday party. It's always on the Saturday during the Wildcard weekend. Usually they set up a side room with a big screen to show a game, but last night being on Prime, there were only a few small groups watching on their phones. I had checked in right after Chicago had scored their first field goal. Missed the rest with dinner and socializing until someone said it was 21-3, Green Bay.

We figured that was that and turned our attention to the gambling casino entertainment. 500 fauxbux worth of chips disappeared in fifteen minutes (which is why I do not gamble). After that, there were more raffles and Mrs. Foxbat was the winner of the downtown night out coupon. (If I couldn't win at the tables, good to know she's the Lucky One!)

We got home and put on the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter. I'm glad we got to see that! Da Bears!🐻

Yesterday was awesome playoff football. The Panthers just badly mismanaged the end of their game. Once they got into field goal territory they should've slowed down the pace and ran more time off the clock. They scored too early, and then played way too soft defensively. They left the Rams too much time and they made them pay.

I agree the Packer game was insane. I was about to go to bed when it got out of hand, but thankfully stayed up for the ending.

The Bills are looking good today, and sadly the Jags are playing like the start of the season offensively and not what we've seen the past month or so. Their defense has been suspect all year, so if they don't get it together offensively soon Allen is going to tear them apart.

Dropped passes end the Eagles season in a good game. Bills and Jags have a back forth fourth quarter with the Bills pulling it off.

Bills only can play New England in the AFC championship.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Steelers dismiss Tomlin. It would be weird if they did and hired John Harbaugh and the Ravens hire Tomlin.

Aaron Rodgers leads the Steelers to their traditional one and done in the playoffs, with likely his final pass as a pro being a pick 6.
Most QBs don't go out like Tom Brady got to.
Tomlin ties Marvin Lewis for the record of consecutive playoff losses at 7.
Pittsburgh needs to adjust something, but the winning record of Tomlin speaks for itself. He is the winningest regular season head coach in Pittsburgh... ever. 193-114-2. Never under .500 in a season. Also, fun fact, 11 years of his career was during the insanity that was the Patriots Dynasty... and Peyton Manning was also in the AFC.

Pittsburgh needs tweaking. FIring Tomlin, who has the highest winning percentage of all time of the franchise is nuts.

Seattle v San Fran - Probably Seattle winning that one.
Rams v Bears - No clue. Both teams have a tendency of mucking things up. Either one would make a nice opponent to lose to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship.

Patriots v Houston - Texans have one of the best defenses. And against a young QB, that can be invaluable. Maye is coming off a not the best performance, but did improve a good deal in the second half. Likewise, Stroud had a mixed outing against Pittsburgh. Southern/dome teams don't do well in the playoffs in the north, but Houston already beat the Steelers. I think this is a toss up outcome, not necessarily close, but I wouldn't be shocked by about any outcome. Texans could steamroller the Pats and force four fumbles. The Pats could win by 35 points. Could go down the wire.

Upstate New York v The Bronx
Buffalo v Broncos - I don't know much about The Broncos, but I do get a 2001 Patriots vibe from them. Their defense has been very good. Meanwhile, Josh Allen is still Josh Allen. Either of these teams can compete for the Super Bowl and I would choose them as the favorite in the AFC Championship game. I have no idea who comes out on top here.

While I agree it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. 7 playoff losses in a row would be the reason why if it happens. It was nuts for the Ravens to fire Harbaugh too. I would take either of them for the Cowboys though getting by the obstacle called Jerry Jones is probably more than any human could ever overcome.

Well, I think Tomlin's phone is about to light up. If my feelings about the Browns wasn't so toxic, I'd love the idea of Tomlin heading up there. Harbaugh to Pittsburgh, Stefanski to Baltimore. It'd be great! Though I would prefer Stefanski to Pittsburgh, Tomlin to Baltimore, and Harbaugh to Cleveland.
