NFL 2025-2026 Season

Patriots defense was really good. Which makes Seattle's defensive performance quite incredible. For a few moments, a Super Bowl LI repeat looked possible, but just a few moments. Maye's targeting issues were apparent last night. The Patriots might not have won with better passing, but Maye could have performed notably better. Walker III deserved the MVP, if one couldn't give it to the Seattle Defensive Line. Had the Patriots won, Gonzalez would have deserved it, as he managed to break up two TDs and was the primary reason the Patriots were mathematically still in the game in the 4th quarter.

For bystanders, probably a terrible game to watch, but as a Patriots fan, their defense kept it interesting. Congrats to Seattle. Patriots getting to the game itself was quite the treat, even though it would have probably been Denver if Nix didn't get hurt. What a year for both teams. Hopefully Maye grows from this outcome... and the Patriots get a stronger offensive line. I doubt they'll got 14-3 next year against a normal schedule.

Neither team was My Team, had eoither team played someone else, I would have rooted for them (Pats or Seahawks)...

A lot of people are going to say it was a boring dull game ...
I disagree ... I enjoyed the game (I pulled for both teams, it was a different experoience, I usually have one or the other I would pull for.)
Both teams played Great Defense, which they were noted for.

Some will look at the score only and say it was a blow out, to bad they Missed the game.

Congrats to the Seahawks .... will both teams make it to the Semi's next year, probably not, but all you have to do to start, is Make the playoffs to have a chance.

@ years ago, the Seahawks had 2 well known WR's to rely on, then they Drafted JSN and traded thier (or left in FA) too top WR's (Lockett and Metcalf), Seattle fans were probably wondering WTH ...
Then they signed Darnold , with No Playoff history ... no one knew what to expect ...

Well, it turned out pretty good for them.

Mainly the same goes for the Pats ...
2 years ago, who would have thought, THEY would be where they are ... they took a chance on a young QB Drake Maye, added some other pieces, however, I think the Biggest move that got the Pats pointed in the right direction was the hiring of Coack Mike Vrabel ... That changed Everything.

I think there is 0% chance they would have been here with the last coach .

Looking forward to seeing these teams in coming years, should be fun to be Fans of either teams.

Being a Colts fan, I was pretty much against the New England Patriots just on history. I was hoping the Broncos would have finished their season with Bo Nix, but it wasn't to be.

Likewise, I was a Bears fan before Indianapolis had an NFL team, so I was hoping their season went past the Rams, but the Big Comeback wasn't there this time. I was so happy with the Bears vs. Colts Super Bowl in 2007 (and happier that the Colts won!) as it was a great time. That's still on my EHD on my Hopper 3, recorded using my 622 DVR of the day.

So, congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks. Their Defense was the Super Bowl MVP. If the Patriots Offensive side played like their Defensive side, the game would have been more engaging in this household. But, I really couldn't get overly-invested in the game. That's why I said, "meh".

I've been more or less against the Pats for the last 30 or so years ... Being a Steelers Fan, playing them in the playoffs, and losing ...
Then once the Brady Era got going and they Won EVERY year, it got tiring ... Now that team is KC, just tired of them too.

I think the Bears will contiune to progess forward, I think the Coach makes all the difference in the world, Ben Johnson is a Good one ...
I would have liked to see what J. Fields could have done in Johnsons Offense, but Johnson was about 5 years too late.

Same goes with N.E., they hired a Coach thats very capable of making them very good again, Mike Vrabel .
If they listen to him, they will be in good hands for years to come.

Does anyone watch the NFL Draft ?

Thursday 8 pm (1st round)
On ESPN, NFL Network, usually its on our local ABC (espn affiliate)
1st Round Thurday
2nd and 3rd rounds Friday
4th thru 7th Saturday

I typically watch the 1st round ... after that I may look in for a few minutes over the weekend to catch up.

Looks like 4 Buckeyes will be in the Top 15 ... Possibly top 10. :)

Don't usually watch much of it as it seems to go on and on forever, or at least 8 hours for first round. Next morning usually check it out to see who drafted whom.

We were just talking about the guys from tOSU going early in the first round. May end up watching first part of show due to that. Wondering what team will be this fall with so many going to the pros.

Heres praying the Buckeyes don't go to the Browns or the Cowboys ... Cowboys have been said to be interested in trading up to 3-7 depending on how it shakes out ... they like both Styles and Downs ... Reese won't be there that late, Reese may at 3 or 4 but not much further, if he make it to 5, NYG will be looking hard at him.

Some are saying Tate will go in top 10, but I'm thinking with all the other defensive stars up there, he may drop to as low as 15.
I'd love to see the Steelers move up to grab him, but they need an O Line even worse than a WR.

Actually, the 1st round is longer because it's 15 minutes between rounds .. that said, a lot don't take that alloted time and things move on... the 1st round will start around 5-10 after 8 and end around midnight ...

Edit: They cut the 1st round now down to 8 minutes to move it along.

So, Pavia got passed over completely. Is he too short, or too disruptive? I enjoyed watching him last year. He played with the kind of enthusiasm all athletes could use a little of. He took a fairly good team to the edge of excellence.

Where will he go? Will he sign on to some team as an undrafted? Will he talk Vandy into paying him 5 million for another season in Nashville? Inquiring minds and all.

Well, he Can't go back to Vandy, thats not an option unless they changed the rules again.
Once you sign being eleigable for the NFL Draft, your out of school. (hopefully that Never changes)

Will he sign on with someone as an Undrafted player, I'd say Yes, some one will sign him to At least the 3rd qb, maybe the #2 if he does well in practice ...

Vanderbilt's media says Pavia is 6' ... not sure what he measured at the Combine (was he invited to it, I would imagine, but don't know)
IF he is 6' I would say yes he has a chance, there are alot of Qb's 6' and under that have gone on to play.

My guess is he's more like 5'9" or 5'10", its common for schools to pad the heights and weights.
Google says he's 5'10" ... I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't give him a try.

5' 9" and 7/8ths at the combine, lol. Clearly fudged some things for him at Vandy. He's also 24, and the 18th ranked QB of the class.

First Heisman finalist to go undrafted since 2014. Seems like his mouth and confidence didn't match his performance at the combine or teams expectations of his ability in the NFL.

Teams aren't interested in controversy unless the performance is there to justify it. Not worth it from your 3rd string / camp arm.

Wise of him to take the slice of humble pie and throw some balls for the Ravens, has little shot of making the active roster, but maybe he can play his way onto someone's scout team this year.

Or perhaps his road ends here, and he can try out for the UFL or something.

Think the old adage "sit quietly and be thought of as a fool or open your mouth and remove all doubt" comes to mind here. Wife and I were wondering who was advising him to talk to the press on draft day?
I lost the bet here, I figured he was a sure fire pick for Cleveland - mouth writes checks talent can't back up seems to be standard there.
