Does the NFL p[ay themselves for, the NFL Network ?
They are talking about adding games to the NFL Net for the first 8 weeks ofd the season to go with the last 8.

Those first 8 Thursday games are going up for bid, but it has been speculated that they will be on NBC Sports Network (Versus).

Fridays most fans are at their kids high school games and Saturday they would have to compete with College games.
A condition of the law that waived anti-trust and allowed the NFL and AFL to merge prohibts them for scheduling Fri and Sat games prior to December in order to protect college and high school attendence.

The law states that no NFL game can be broadcast within 75 miles of a collegic or high school game scheduled on Friday or Saturday.
So the NFL can have games any other day of the week regardless of who's playing. Or have non-televised games if they wish.

I don't think that's happening anytime soon.

I'll be honest and please dont hate me for saying this but the Friday games thing I dont understand. What does one have to do with another? If the NFL has, lets say Dolphins/Bills on a Friday night, I wouldnt think anyone from CT. or Louisiana or Colorado would care as they would go to there Friday night High School games. It wouldnt concern them. I really dont see the big deal.

Those are ALOT of eyes the NFL (and advertisers) would rather have on THEIR game.

I guess your right but Im 29 yrs. old and I really have no desire to see my high school play. Maybe when I was in my early 20s but not now. Unless you have a son playing in the game are you going to spend a Friday or Saturday night with your wife or girlfriend at a high school football game?

I dunno how it is in all states or areas but Texas lives and breaths HS football. Here in NC its very popular as well.

Oklahoma too. Unless you're in the Tulsa or OKC metro area's or maybe Lawton, Ardmore or Bartlesville, what else are you going to do in small towns of 25k or less when it's an hour's drive to go to a movie or get dinner. High school sports and small college sports are an entertainment mainstay around here.

Cause he said it in his post. But I was just getting on your cse. I have failed to notice things that are far more obvious.
