Monoprice all the way! Just sold two more today. The HDMI cables we've (the RSP) have always received from Dish I've had to sell for $55. WTF?
I've used Pacific Cable for years. Great products, great prices, great service, and especially important to me--Made in USA. They will also make any custom cable for you, but at a price, of course.

When did they ever provide them for free? When I got my first 811 receiver, I had to call E* later myself and they sent a hdmi out with a dvi adapter. I think they charged me something like 10-12 dollars.
Is an HDMI cable, just an HDMI cable? What's this version 1.3 I'm reading about? Does the amount of Gbps matter? I understand that at least 800gbps for a blu-ray connection. The dish installer the other day, put a huge scratch in my wood floor, and he called his mgr, and 3 more folks came running over like it was a major catastrophe. Anyway, they ended up GIVING me one of their HDMI cables, AND a phonex easyjack2 for my reciever. Not sure about the cable...might try a better quality, and the phonex...I can't get caller ID on my TV screen...anyone have this problem?
I thought the same thing. And here they will give you free component cables but charge for the HDMI? Price is everything for some folks...

I like the bottom of the .pdf that Randall provides. It states "No calls should be generated to the CSC". I presume CSC is Customer Service Center. Just rather funny that they're stating they don't want to be bothered by this etc. I wonder if they're going to tell the CSC people about this change though.
I guess my installer that was out on Saturday didn't get the memo. lol. I just had an additional 722 installed. The guy was pretty cool and fairly knowledgeable, although he did think they were going to send a shuttle up to fix the errant satellite recently launched.
I asked him if he had any HDMI cables. He said he didn't think he had any but he would check. Went to the van an came back with a really nice 8' HDMI cable that he gave me free of charge.
He seemed really surprised when I tipped him before he left too.

I don't know much about the difference with v1.3, but since it's digital you don't need to spend $300 on a fancy cable. 1's and 0's are the same regardless. Different from analog signals (component/compsite) where you can have some loss of signal and degredation from cheap cables. With digital it's more of an all or none signal.

1.3 adds nothing unless you are using HDMI for a PC, video game system (PS3 or 360), or BD/HD DVD. For a satellite/cable connection 1.1 is fine.
