I cannot get a tech here for 7-10 days (due to my rep having covid issues).

I am in a bar with 18 tv's. I have a slimline 5 dish coming into a Power amp then to a Polarity locker then split out to 2 SWM-16 units then to 8 port splitters then out to each tv that has its own Direct TV box. I am getting no signal to the even transponders on 103/110/119, with the odd ones in the 90's. The 13V input to 103/110/119 seems to be the problem. I swapped out the cable and the issue remains, so that is not the problem. I have replaced the LNB and done my best to check alignment. What else can I check?

Here are my readings:

The polarity locker usually goes between the LNB and first amplifier otherwise the LNB may not get 22KHz or DiSEqC commands. Some amplifiers will pass switching commands, some will not. Are you getting any channels or just missing some? Is this a new install or was it working then quit?

I answered in the other forum already, but try bypassing the amp and polarity locker. From what you've said it seems the most likely cause is a failure in either the amp or polarity locker, so bypassing them both to confirm that, then connecting only one of them will help narrow it down.

I must have typed that incorrectly, the system was installed by a professional installer and worked for several years until just recently. I have tried wiring directly to the swm and have the same result.

We are not receiving any HD channels that I can find, only SD. But it seems that I can pick up any channel in the SD quality.

Go and check the signal levels on all the receivers, or if you can check 2 receivers connected on different SWM switches, that should tell you if your dealing with a bad switch

If the problem is only from receivers hooked up to 1 SWM switch, then one of your switches is likely bad.

Another way to test would be to take the 4 lines from the dish and hook them directly into the SWM 16, bypassing the splitters, polarity lockers and the amp.

It’s good to have a polarity locker and amp, but the system will work without it just fine considering you only have 2 SWM switches.

If you got a DSWM 30, that would eliminate the need for both SWM16’s. These switches are fairly in expensive these days, and would likely be cheaper than paying for a tech visit

If you swap port 3 and 4 into the polarity locker, the problem should switch from the even to the odd transponders.

If that happens it’s a bad LNB, or cable issue.

If the problem remains the same, then it’s a polarity locker, amp, or a SWM switch issue.

Then bypass the polarity locker and amp, and tap and that will tell If it’s a switch issue.

I believe the amp also can send voltage to the LNB, so you could bypass the polarity locker also to further help isolate the issue.

If it was me, I would order a DSWM30!and a 2 way SWM splitter and eliminate the second SWM16
