A tree took down my dish and I bought a replacement. Its a DP unit. I was told I just hook up my one wire to the LNB and away I go.
I tried to point and shoot LOL. No luck. I saw somewere I need a "dish pro adapter" because my unit(5000) does not support the LNB.
Were can I get one of these gadget?

I don't believe that a 5000 model receiver is compatible with a DP Adapter. I think you need either a legacy twin or quad LNB for your dish. Any legacy receivers with three zeros in the model number (except a 6000) are not in any way compatible with DP equipment. With or without the adapter. This is due to software limitations in the receivers.
