Why would one want a superdish ? You all talk about switches,DP34,etc.Where are they ? If I aimed my dish at 61.5,what would prevent me from receiving it ?Thanx

a Super Dish is a dish that sees 105,110, and 119 or 110, 119, and 121. At this point you only need them for locals or internationals. A DP 34 switch combines 3 orbital locations and sends the signal to 4 tuners ( a 625,522, or 322 are 2 tuners ie) All LNBS must be rated DP or DPP in order to use a 34

Assuming you have a dish500 (110 & 119) if you moved it to 61.5 you would loose your all general programming on 110 and 119. Thats why multiple dishes and switches are used. Also you can't get 105 or 121 with standard LNBs because those satellites use a much higher frequency. You'll need the special LNB that only superdish has.

Here's basically what's on these satellites:
61.5 HD (Voom), International, Religous, Public Interest, Locals (east)
110 & 119 General programming, HD Pak, some locals
105 Locals
121 Internationals, Locals
148 Internationals, Public Interest, Locals (west)

The 105 & 121 are Ku-FSS band, which is a LOWER freq. at 11.7-12.2Ghz, and FSS uses Horizontal and vertical polarity which requres the dish or LNB to be skew'd. Ku-DBS is 12.2-12.7 and uses circular polarity, so a single sat dish needs no skew and is eaier to install. Ka band is 17-20Ghz, and needs a slightly larger dish than Ku-DBS. C-Band is 3-6Ghz(approx.).

Thanx for all the info, guys.I have a spare dish (dual) and Im going to aim it for 61.5 run a cable directly to input and see if I get anything, just for drill, might pick up Pentagon Channel.
