What sucks is the OP was a long time Directv subscriber and was treated this way. Not a good way to keep loyalty....

Not sure what Direcs churn rate is but Im sure they
have lost folks due to ''so called tightening the belt''

In fairness no provider is perfect-However, I also have
dish. I have had them since the late 90s as well.
Cant stand what they did to Voom. They have a bad reputation for pulling
channels in disputes-Hate that!
That said
Ive never had a single customer service issue with them.
I have bundled service with Uverse-New kid on block.
Probably most aggressive (in a good way)in servicing
customers.
