Over the past week we have seen many threads posted with complaints about Dish Network not adding new HD content.

The number of threads has gotten out of hand (and to some extent it is my fault, I have had a busy week and work and have been unable to combine like threads, so for that I am sorry)

Anyways please use THIS THREAD as your one and only spot the speak out on the lack of new HD content from Dish Network.

From this point forward all complaints about the lack of new HD MUST be posted to this thread. Anyone starting new threads to complaign about the lack of new HD from Dish Network will be moved into this thread.

Thanks for your understanding, and hopefully Dish Network gets the picture SOON. :)

I'll put in an official complaint--Why can I go over to my buddy's house and watch SciFi HD and USA HD on our local garbage cable but can't watch it at home on the industry "leader in HD"?

I'm already missing Stargate Atlantis in HD and I'm bitter about it every time I watch the show. I will be very unhappy if Battlestar Galactica starts and I'm still limited to SD.

I'm not under contract and I've been hanging in there, but I'll be paying very close attention over the next several weeks as we get closer to the BSG season premiere.

Please be advised that I want more Dish HD channels. However, I want those channels I already watch in SD, such as Fox News, Speed Channel, ESPNU, CSTV, etc. (Plus my locals.)

If Dish Network will contact me by email, I will give them a list of the channels I want them to add first. Otherwise, they can simply work from the short list shown above.

Sincerely, and my best regards to Dish Network and all.

Fitzie

P.S.: I also would like 2 more hours in each day so I can get some sleep. I watch way too much dang TV.

Any bets that this will be the longest thread in Satguys history?
That distinction probably couldn't be wrestled away from the current champ. You forget that DIRECTV customers went well over three years with only a couple of token additions after the 2004 announcement.

Don't mean to be a nag ... but should this not be in the HD section??? ;)

Oh wait ... this is a "complaint" thread ... :)

If they can get SCIFI HD by the time Galactica kicks off, I will be a very happy camper ...

I could always get my Galactica HD fix however via torrents too ... hopefully it won't come to that.

There was a 2 page ad in the middle of the SJ Mercury News today. On the left is their new spokesman, on the right a bunch of LCD TVs, each with a different HD channel still. Guess what channel was top left? USA.

Take that for what it's worth. My opinion: either the ad department really messed up, or it's coming very soon. It would be REALLY stupid (not to mention false advertising) to advertise a channel as if you have it when you don't.

are there any complainers left to complain?

it's pretty quiet around here lately. that coupled with the fact the directv online order system is completely down right now makes me believe this will not be the longest thread ever.

kudos to dish for realizing they may be able to keep SOME customers who love their HD DVRs and USB archive, by offering an HD only package.

Ironically today, D* called me and offered me a free HD DVR plus $400 in savings. This is really, really tempting but I just signed up for dvr advantage and free cinemax for 2 years, though I'm not under contract.

Anyone know if I get to keep my free cinemax if I downgrade to HD only, as long as I keep autopay/paperless billing. I realize I would only get cinemax HD but that's still pretty good for $30/mth.

The way I look at it is our new hd is the $29.99 Hd only pack. I do not think they would have done this if they were adding more hd. To keep subs happy and not to leave, they threw us this discount.

Stay tuned.:)

I should have switched when I could have got the Sunday ticket for a good price. I will wait until football season again, and if there are not significant improvements in Dish HD I'm history.

I understand that Dish has issues to resolve before new HD channels are added, but I am willing to be patient if Dish is giving honest communication about their plans and at least a rough estimate on a time line.
