I have seen this term in the discussions abotu FOX HD on channel 88. So, a couple of questions for those more elightened than I:

1. What is O&O?
2. Am I in an "O&O area" in Metro Detroit, MI?
3. How come I can't see anything on channel 88? Is it like CBSE, etc in that I live too close to another signal to get the FOX HD one?

I appreciate the help.

Owned and Operated - meaning Fox owns the local Fox Station.

Call Direct and ask of Detroit is O&O or I'm sure there is a thread somewhere which lists the O&O areas.

O&O means Owned and Operaed by the network as opposed to an affiliate that is owned by another business but shows their programming. Your Fox station in Detroit is---I believe---owned by Fox ---so Ia m not sure what the situation is.

If you are too close to another FOx, you may need a waiver

As an example, Minneapolis CBS & FOX are O & O...however, in parts of the DMA there is a Fox or CBS that claims you are a Grade B signal area for them, and you would need a waiver
