Old account EHD to new account Hopper?

Hi

I had an old EHD with tons of concerts/shows from an old Dish account when I was in college last year and I was wondering if I can connect it to a new account with Hopper (HWS) that I'm about to open. Will it let me connect it and see my old content or will it force me to format it? Also, is a one-time payment to connect an EHD still required?

thanks

No you won't be able to use it with a new account. It will be formatted when you connect it.
No fee anymore.

Since you mentioned fee, did you have a 211 per chance? It would not work with Hopper regardless.

I had a 722K, any creative ways out there to keep these recordings, I still have my 722K which I can connect to the drive so any ideas are welcomed.

Unfortunately it can't be done. The EHD is married only to that account number not to a particular receiver. Once cancelled you can't get that account number back. The programs on there are encrypted so even if you could extract them they won't play.
As mentioned there no longer is a fee to use an EHD.
