On Demand and non HD DVR's

Hi,

Does anyone know why DirecTV only offers On Demand thru their HD DVR's? I have two standard DVR's in my home and wanted to have access to it.

Are there any plans to offer it on non HD DVR's in the future?

Because it downloads over the internet to the hard drive on the DVR. Non DVRs have no drive to download to.

The latest SD DVR, R22 I believe, does do DoD. It has an ethernet port. The R15, 16's do not.
