We have two PPV certificates, to be redeemed online, that expire in a few days. The system has been down a lot lately. My wife wanted to get Robin Hood. She tried again earlier today, per the note she left me:

"Sooo I get home at 11:45 zap some soup and try to access DISH again. still no dice, sooooo I call and get a "helpful" person who tells me I can do it online... soooo I say it's not working and she says I can order using certificate on phone. soooo I have page up and see Robin Hood HD on screen and dial number and get voicemail. soooo I listen and it wants the channel number which of course is not on the computer screen. soooo I go turn on the tv, carry my phone downstairs with the cert. find the PPV channel for Robin Hood HD and call again. I got as far as it recognizing that we had a certificate, which it blithely said it would credit our account. Soooo I have no idea if I ordered Robin Hood. It did not show up in the 15 minutes I was waiting for my soup to digest.

According to the computer voice, the movie will be available to me as long as it is available on the TV? And good for 24 hours after I start viewing it. If I ordered it..."

Needless to say, there is no movie on either ViP722 under DVR/Dish Cinema/my rentals. (VOD area)

I looked in the guide, and it shows up on 501, 510 & 545. No indication of being able to view without further charge. I note that the certs say PPV not VOD. It's been many years since I've rented a PPV. I stopped after losing a couple to 721 failures, and then they started this 24 hour self destruction stuff.

When I go online to myaccount, it shows one certificate has having been redeemed today, for Robin Hood.

Am I correct in "assuming" that we can just watch (or in our case, DVR) the thing on, say 545, and the certificate will just be credited to our account? And can we DVR it to both DVRs without extra charge?

Should be YES and YES. They should have turned it on the PPV (not VOD) channel when it was ordered and although I seldom order PPV I ALWAYS record 'em on BOTH my 622 & 722 for only one charge or freebie redemption. I used 2 FREE PPVs in the last month and recorded both on both receivers--one was Robin Hood BTW. It should be available to you "all day". Hope this helps.

Despite the directions saying you cannot use the certificate via phone or remote, the way it works is that you order the title by channel number on the phone (assuming the online part doesn't work) and then pick the time you want to DVR it off the channel you earlier chose. So you ARE completing the order using the remote. BTW, when you order like this, there will be no price shown on the TV, because it has already been paid for.

$4.99 for SD, $5.99 for HD.

I'll give it a try on both DVRs. Thank you.

Navy-You should have no problem doing so. It even says so in your manual. Another thing-by recording on both you'll be able to keep the 2nd recording for 30 days or for 24 hours after you begin viewing it. Just don't start the 2nd one until you want to actually use it. Yer welcome!

Oddly, the notice says I have until some time in February to view it. Consistent in their inconsistency!

Good deal! I just checked & I still have a PPV that was free on my 2nd receiver available and it was recorded 8/15. Maybe it's 120 days? Don't see a notice/expiration date......

Kind of odd; as of last night Robin Hood was still there, even though it's days past when she saw it. Maybe the fine print is that this particular title stays available for X months. Too much inconsistency.
