OTA Channels Disappearing?

I've had my ViP 622 for a couple of years now, and it just recently lost almost all of my OTA channels. I know the stations are still there, and that the antenna is fine. I tried attaching the antenna directly to my TV, and the channels come in perfectly. But when I put the antenna on the receiver, it says there's no signal.

Now the only OTA channel I get on the receiver is channel 7.

Any ideas on what might be going on?

I did rescan. It only found 5 channels.

Sounds like you need to get another antenna or re-aim the existing one to get better reception.

Have you tried pulling the AC power for a minute or so, then rescanning?

The OP stated that he gets his OTA channels fine when he hooks it directly to the TV. My guess is to hard reset your receiver. You can also try an amplifier if that doesn't work.

This is an oldie but goodie. Since I no longer have a 622/722, I won't be able to walk you through it, but I can tell you the problem. A Local channels setting has been changed from OFF AIR to Cable. But if I recall, it's not in a logical place in the menu. Maybe someone here knows the what and how. But, it is a SETTING problem, not hardware.

For future reference though, how does one do a hard reset? Just unplug it for a minute?

I know that there's nothing wrong with the antenna(s). So hopefully it's not a hardware problem inside the receiver. I've got some shows and movies that I wouldn't want to lose if I had to replace the thing.

Yes, unplugging it is referred to as "Hard Reset". The setting KAB refers to is located under the HD setup screen.

Once the Off Air setting is corrected, you'll need to scan again.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm not sure what it was, but the Cable/Off Air/IRC/HRC switch, hard reset, and rescan fixed it.
