OTA (DC) and DirecTV (Baltimore)

What is "OP" and what do you mean by overload?

OP is Original poster (thread starter) and overload refers toa situation where the signal is so strong that it actually interferes with reception of tht cahnnel and sometimes nearby channels.

My own comment dealt with variations in conditions that sometimes make a pre amp necessary but perhaps I should have qualified it due to the OP's situation.

The OP is very close to the Baltimore transmitters & is at risk of overload with most any pre-amp.

True, but if you get a directional antenna, and point it towards DC, then the pre-amp could amplify the weak signal off the back side of the antenna. Just a thought, might not work out that way like it did for me. I'm much farther from Baltimore (13mi), and closer to DC (22 mi, still 2-edge for me) than the OP. EDIT: For the OP, I see DC and Baltimore are only 90 degree off, so I'm not sure this will work at all...

Oh, and 50.2 is Antenna TV, not 50.3. My bad.
