Other ways to turn on a receiver

Receivers can be turned on by pressing one of these buttons on the remote. Guide, List, Menu, Info, Chan up, Chan down. Also, by pressing the guide or menu button on the receiver itself will turn it on.

Is this a question or a statement ?

If your recvr is turning on using all those buttons (does it turn OFF that way as well) ?
I would guess that you have the wrong code programmed in the remote, try a different code.

I've seen that too. Hit guide and realized it wasnt on yet it kicks on

It's a statement. A receiver, not the tv, can be turned on by pressing one of the buttons I mentioned. The code to control the receiver was not changed.

Gotcha, I was thinking it was a TV on/off issue.

You CAN reset the remote if you want and see if that helps.
