I gave up on this show. It was too weird even for me.
Yeah, it felt like it was approaching some normal time travel tropes or something, but the cast and setting were just all so strange. Felt like the quality of the cast got me through season 1. I might give season 2 a go after I watch The Bear S3.
I wasn't interested enough to get through S2E1, and probably won't revisit it at all now.
