‘Outlander’ on Starz

Moore and cast members confirmed that the remainder of Season 1's episodes, which begin April 4 on the Starz premium channel, will grow increasingly dark. "It does go to some harrowing places," said Moore. "If you haven't read the book, you'll be surprised by the direction it takes." He added that the season finale provides "a satisfying ending. I think it's an ending worthy of the story and takes you places you weren't expecting to go."

I watched the finale of Outlander last night. I had saved the entire series till I got time to sit down and watch them each night till it was over. I googled what the ending meant and google provided 3 alternate theories, but they left it up to the individual to choose what they wanted. It is still a time travel story and at it's heart a romance between Jamie and Claire that endures to the end of the show as well as time itself. IF you can watch it the ending is very satisfying. I chose the one where they live on in history.

This would be a happy theory, but it summarily ignores the butterfly effect (the whole reason Jamie chose to fight and die).
Well Claire's hair totally went white at the end of the episode and they both woke up suddenly then black screen. Claire could heal with her body and that is how her hair started getting white streaks in it before. So we can deduce that all the time she spent hugging Jamie's corpse ( days it looked like)brought him back to life at the end.

The other theory was because Jamie came back as a ghost and traveled in his younger body to 1945 to see Claire on her honey moon with Frank , her first husband that he was making sure the time loop continued. Jamie's ghost touched the stones and blue flowers grew at the base. That was what made Claire go to the stones and touch them by trying to pick up the blue flowers she went through them back in time.

The third theory was that they woke in the hereafter, but if so why wouldn't they both look younger again like when Jamie is a ghost with Red hair. I still choose to believe he was brought back to life by Claire and her love and her healing spirit.

The last scene they showed was the real author of the series is signing books called Outlander in a library and by her side was the manual that Claire was writing into about their story. Someone asked what it was and she said my inspiration for my story. Cool ending.
