Hi folks, I own one of these boxes and used to use it for satellite reception and loved the DVR feature.

I still have my box and the external USB hard drive I used for DVR, but now I get cable television for my service.

My question is, is there any way to hook this up so that I can use the Pansat as a DVR to record programs from my cable TV?

Thanks in advance

The tuner in the 250SM is DVB-S. OTA is now mainly ATSC. OTA used to be, and Analog cable uses NTSC, Digital Cable uses QAM. A Pansat 1000TC has an ATSC tuner, with a DVB-S2 add on available. I think one of the Azbox models has an ATSC tuner, or one is available for it. An ATSC tuner may be available for a few other top end models, but not the 250SM.
May I refer you to this thread, http://www.satelliteguys.us/fta-shack/239572-dvr-free-air.html for a review of a few models of DVR.
Oh- :welcome To Satelliteguys.
