So while I was out at Fry's yesterday, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to pick up an external drive so I could start recording with my 9200HD. Silly me forgot that the 9200HD takes an eSATA; not USB 2.0. So the question is does anyone know if I could use a USB to eSATA adapter and still work this? Fry's is a good drive from where I live in the Styx.

Also, does anyone know if there is a channel editor that works on the Mac/unix/linux?

Thanks,
Wes

The problem is that most people are adapting a SATA drive to USB, not the other way around. Inside the external drive enclosure, the drive itself is almost certainly a SATA drive, but there are subtle differences between the interface on an internal SATA device and ESATA.

yeah I'm kinda in the same boat. Was looking for a esata drive for my D* receiver but seems like everything is a USB 2.0
