Has anyone tried the new Pansat TC-1000 ?

I haven't seen any reports on it, and I keep watch ! My guess is that it's overpriced , now that the Openbox s9 is so competent and so cheap.

the only reason to get a tc-1000 would be if you need a box that does ATSC

It does seem high on the price but In my dealings with Pansat, I have always liked them. I have a 2700 that has worked great for many years. Just curious if this new TC-1000 is a good one.

Isn't the TC-1000 just an ATSC Tuner / DVR that you have to buy an Add-On Card for Satellite Signals?

Your right , Tim. I notice that Mike Kohl sells the unit with the S2 card installed.

Prices of TV's are coming way down. I saw a 32" LCD HDTV the other day for $269 new. Combine that with an Openbox S9 and it's hard to justfy spending $400 on just a receiver . The Openbox S9 pricing puts enormous pressure on the FTA stb market.
