I installed a PAT 4106A as shown in pictures. Also refer to my set up at the bottom.

I am having a bit of a problem to set it up any help would be much appreciated

My questions:

1- Shall I take the yellow transparent paper cover shown in picture to install?

2- the cylinder inside LNB has to be located in any special direction?

Thanks Gabshere for your response ..This is the answer I got from a different forum:

I wouldn't recommend to remove the film (kapton tape ?) because of :
1st - it RF transparent
2nd - it prevent get moisture inside, hence help against corrosion or buildup some sulfurs

Here my findings:

Since I had two different opinions and I a already taken the plastic off and mounted I decided to measure signals with and without plastic. I chose Galaxy 17 :
NG-Dig 70%, Speed Dig 72%, Fuel-dig 71%, Soccer 71% and Nat Geo 71% Level with 80% Quality

And yes the values are exactly the same for both cases... So I decided to leave plastic on and suggest not taking it off as per post above from PSmith
