As much as I HATE that Pete Rose is banned from the HOF....if he would have done this from day one. He would have been IN the HOF and MORE THAN LIKELY be a part of SOME MLB organization by now. How long has it been since being suspended or whatever they did?

I have many videos of Pete Rose on Television . Some when the accusations game out and some when he was banned. He trashed everyone that accused him. The Phil Donahue Show he did showed him at his worst. At the start he said something like I'm willing to bet anyone in this audience that I didn't bet on baseball. He showed all the signs of having a serious gambling problem . He should have got some help then. Stories came out in bits and pieces that the Commissioner at that time found very damaging evidence against Rose that never came out because the Commissioner cared about Rose but also knew he had to ban him. So who knows what he did. I believe he bet up baseball while playing and while he was Manager from what I've heard.

I don't know, more than likely, he might get one of those federal pens for white collar crime where they might get tennis in the morning and squash in the afternoon for activities.

I believe he gambled for years as a player. Years, not months. He just didn't pick this up when he became Manager. But to be honest here betting as a manager is worse then betting as a player. As a Manager you have more control and that makes it worse.

That's true . But a Gambler doesn't just start Gambling if you're as sick as Rose is . Rose has lied for so long about this the only people I believe are the people who banned him from the game or helped with the investigation. . I can't remember if it was a Sports Illustrated story or a ESPN story that said someone from the Reds who played with Rose said he was Gambling when he played. That player said he knew he bet on Football , Basketball, etc while playing baseball . When asked if he bet on Baseball as a player he said it thought he did. I still think Pete was a great player but he was also a man that needed help long long ago.

There is nothing wrong with betting on other Sports when your playing, I'm sure the sports leader wouldn't endorse it, but it's legal.

Strange how NO ONE from the Reds ever said anything about it to the media.

I know Rose , Morgan and Bench don't get a long, but I don't know if that is why.
