Did you notice his slip about HD-DVD? It seems I was once again right on the spot: he indirectly confirmed my $200 expectations WRT external HD-DVD player. 
The price could change at any time, but I think everyone knew it would be $199 anyways...If it doesn't add HDMI it's not the shiny box it was supposed to be anyways.
They may never release the thing anyways, unless HD-DVD actually shows some life in the format war. They've said they'll release a blu-ray drive if the market demanded it...
