All my coax runs end in one central location in the basement. From there they (original builders) only ran one coax to the 3rd floor to the master bedroom. If I wanted to put another box on the 3rd floor (making a total of 2), could I install another switch at that level?

Is there any other option instead of running another coax up there (which is almost impossible)?

You didn't state what kind ofn installation you have, so I'll assume that it isn't SWM. Adding another switch in the manner which you describe won't work. Using a splitter will also not work.

Tell us what you have now for a dish.

I see from another post of yours that you do have SWM, so that splitter you linked will do the job.

And welcome to DirecTV. :)
