I've been a Apple users for some years now (still am on one of my lines) but decided to dip my toes back into the android pool.

I've used both with no loyalty over the years, and the fold form factor has intrigued me. I've used the Samsung folds and just don't like the form factor. The outside screen is typically too dang narrow to make using it most days viable for me.

With the PP10f I can actually use it closed and be mostly satisfied with the experience. With it open, the rounded corners are also preferable to me.

iOS vs android? They are mostly the same these days. Really. The biggest draw imo one way or the other is still iMessage. It MAY get me back to iOS before all is said and done but I'm gonna give it all a fair shake for a few weeks.

Overall, I like the form factor as Google offers it. I can actually use it as a normal phone, and the unfolded screen is GREAT, when needed.

Battery life is good. Typing accuracy seems to be better on the smaller outer screen vs my 16 pro Max.

My Pixel 10 Pro Fold came yesterday, but the case and screen protectors came today so I waited until today to do the unboxing and initial setup. Marginal upgrade over the 9 Pro Fold, but that very slight .1" bump in the external screen size is noticeable to me and both screens as a whole seem a tad bit better. The thinner silver bezel looks much nicer but with a case, it's a moot point. The redesigned hinge on the 10 is great, feels smoother when opening versus the 9.

I agree about Samsung's Galay Z Fold, while when folded, it looks more like a traditional smartphone, but the taller aspect ratio is probably something I could not get used to, I do like the inner display a little better though.

I despise the native Pixel Launcher, but I would use it if you could customize the layout of the home screens internal versus external. Octopi is the best out there for independent layouts, but I prefer Microsoft Launcher for the external display, so that's what I use.

Outside of some of Google's own apps and MS Office, I'm still struggling to find something that can take advantage of the internal display. I've been using my foldable mostly as a mobile web device. I prefer the larger screen on the 10 Pro XL and that is my main phone. Both Chrome and Edge support desktop style tabbed browsing, and Edge supports extensions as does Firefox, but I don't like their implantation of tabs. It has been damn near impossible to use the web without an ad blocker for 15 years now, if Chrome for Android ever supports extensions, there won't be an ad blocker due to their war on them, but Edge for Android w/Ublock Origin enabled on a foldable is awesome.

I never understood the point of Apple's Mag Safe, and I don't get Google's Pixel Snap. I bought the stand to use at work, with my 10 Pro XL and I just don't get it. I don't understand how this is a big deal. I've never really been a fan of wireless chargers and most if not all of the MagSafe, Pixel Snap and associated third party accessories don't do anything for me. An external battery pack is the only thing I might see as useful.

Oh and hallelujah for the physical SIM card slot. I did a fake made up RMA on my Pixel 10 Pro XL hoping to get the international version with the pSIM slot as a replacement like some people have reported but no luck.

Anyone planning to buy the iphone 17?

Anyone getting the Z fold 7
