Please Help .... H21 does not recognize 18" round

I have had no problems in the past with bringing my old recievers camping with me, and having them setup to the 18" round in no time.

Ever since I was upgraded to the H20 and now H21.....the reciever is not recognizing my change in the satellite setup from SLM3 to 18" Round.

I have even tried the red button reset, but it always goes back to the SLM3, which is the setting for my house.

If you can tell me why the reciever is not allowing or acknowleding the satellite that it is hooked to, I would appreciate it.

Menu - settings - Satellite - 18" round - Multiswitch - Continue..............and after about 5 minutes of "wait a minute while your system..." it comes to a page that says that the setup was not configured and the satellite can not be found"...or something like that.

It sounds like your trying to go thru the Repeat Sat Set Up, correct ?

IF Not, thats where you need to change the Dish Set Up that will allow it to see the correct dish.

IF you are unable to make the changes, Call D* and let them know, I had one that did they same thing and found that there was some recvrs that were not seeing the changes, recvr was going bad, replaced it and have not had the problem since.

It is a brand new receiver. It worked fine the other day when I had to change it from a SLM 5 to a SLM 3 after I got Whole House DVR....anyway....

It somehow gets locked up because it never really gets to the point of the settings switching over and looking for the round 18" dish. It times out, and gives me an error because it is still looking for the SLM 3 (the setting for the house) and can only find the 101 and not the other two sats.

I was hoping to do a main menu "reset everything" and try to start fresh....but am having trouble getting back to that screen. The simple red button reset only gets me back to the set page that inludes only "change sat settings" and "signal meter"....

18 inch round dish only receives the 101 satellite.
18x20 Phase III Receives 101,110,119
Slimline 3 receives 99,101,103
Slimline 5 receives 99,101,103,110,119.

I have the 18" round .... and all I'm looking to get is the SD 101 Sat.

The problem is the my H21 Rec'r is not switching from the SL3 setting that I have at my house. It is kind of locked onto my home settings.

OK , but you did do the Satellite setup again?

If so , Try Resetting the receiver, and then try it again after it reboots.

now i'm seeing a 771A error...something about a SWM problem......but, my 18" round dish is a multiswitch dish. It is not allowing me to change to the new settings (18" round, multiswitch) from my home setting of #17 - 3LNBSlim SWM......

heck, I can's even get the signal meter to read anything because it is not recognizing that I have it hooked to a 18" round dish.

FRUSTATING !!! on the older SD recr's, it was very simple, maybe took 5 minutes to sight in and make the satellite settings change...but ever since they made me upgrade to H20...then this H21, problems !!!

Actually, your trouble with set ups here are related to having the SWiM set up, not the recvr.
