I've posted this b4 in other forums, but couldnt get a positive reply...

first 3 pics are of what my dish looked like before I modded it... I have only seen 1 or 2 other BUD's in pics that even looked similar. the last pic is a front shot after it was finished, and got painted.

its a 10 footer, its really heavy, and the only ID on it was "startrak" on the lnb cover...

any info would be great

thx

beano

Just curious. Looks like you added more ribs. Also since you "modded" it why do you need info on who made it?

it performs very well :)... its a deep dish so it it has good isolation between sats. I can pull in dvb-s2 signals across the arc no problem... from 87 to 139... (cant go further east due to a tree across the alley :( )

great job

Wow, that was an ugly monster with all that bracketry on the back side!
Sure does look nice after you put a proper mount on it. :up
Any trouble getting it to hold its shape? Pass the string test okay?

suggestion: dynamite :up
no? well , maybe some copper sulfate, then...

thx... it was a big job to get it up and running...

I used the mount from my parents old 10 footer.

and I just did a "string test" not too long ago when I did some spring tweaking... BUD is holding its shape nicely. ribs are made of heavy steel, the dish(without the mount) weighs 300+ lbs...

I would have liked to see how it was originally mounted, but it was dug out of the ground when I went to pick it up. I dont rember seeing the polar mount for it laying around...

lol... would love to cut down that tree... but its not on my property... :(

I got that.
My suggestion holds.
Dissolve some copper sulfate crystals in hot water (warning: may be toxic) and apply weekly, 'till the patient is cured.
(safer way: dig a little hole near the roots, and pour in two cups of the blue crystals)
Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.
