So several people on here will argue that D* has better PQ than Dish? I haven't noticed any difference, but I don't have the latest//greatest flat screen tv either. What are your thoughts?



PS---Still a fan of Dish. Not a hater.

I've had both services in HD so I guess I can take a run at it.

I would say that they are different but one not necessarily better than the other. But after a day or two, you don't notice the difference at all. That is for HD. For SD, Dish is much better overall, but the quality varies by channel.

That is viewing on a 54" Panasonic plasma TV.

I had both services a couple of years back and I agree with this assessment. I have a toshiba hd lcd tv.:up

I've had both HD services Dish HD on a modern plasma display is amazingly good.

I'm on a 42" 600Hz scan Panasonic plasma and the picture looks perfect.

I agree that Dish SD looks a little better than DirecTv. I have not had DirecTv for over 14 months now, but back when I first switched back to Dish, I would have to give a slight edge to DirecTv in HD clarity. However, Dish has some HD channels on 72 that look really good like Epix and IndiePlex. Of course that is just my opinion.

Just switched to Direct. I immediately noticed a higher clarity on their HD PQ on my 1080' 50 inch plasma when comparing the two. To me this is more important than anything. I only watch HD.

Dish treated me very well the last 8 years. I really hated my 612 receiver and they would not replace it, plus the whole room DVR system was a great bonus.

But this is a bit off the subject. On a PQ scale 1 to 10 I rate Dish HD #7 and Direct HD #9
