Last night, I was trying to motor around and lost all signals. Still don't have them. I've tried turning off the receiver from the back and reconnecting and everything and still nothing. I'm beginning to wonder if these 4+ days of 100+ degree temps have not fried the motor. I've got to get on the roof one of these days in near future and check it out. Something ain't right, and I'm really hoping it's not a permanent problem.

There is not a chance that the heat has anything to do with it (iMO). We have had tempatures of around 107º the last couple of days! And my SG2100 is around 3 years old and works perfectly

Are we talking SG2100 or Moteck, where did you buy it, as there a few versions of this very popular motors out there.

master, my USALS motor has had the occassion of having a brain fart (I think). Last week we had some severe lightning, so I unplugged everything. When I went to use it again, I was on G10 and everything was cool. I move to IA7 to see what was on, found nothing interesting, everything cool. Went back to G10, and I waited and waited and waited, starting to panic, no signal, I went over to AMC1. Found Pentagon channel, everything cool, went on to IA5, waited and waited and nothing, panicing again. What's going on here? Move on to IA8 and get signal, somethings not right. I look in menu's and everything looks OK. I go back to IA5 and wait and wait and wait. I go back into menu and find USALS had been disabled, very strange. Also, the LNB Type had change to Error and the DiSeqc had changed to #41, wow 41. Anyway I reset it and everything is fine. I also found that G10 and 2 other sats had done the same thing. Not sure what caused it, maybe from the lightning, maybe not. I had done several blind scans prior to unplugging everything, maybe it was from transponder overload. I since have cleaned up my TP listings on several sats, especially the 4 that acted funny.
So, what I'm saying is check and see if something like this has happened to your receiver.

Al

Edit: this was on the Pansat 3500s.....

It's possible. But, I did a factory reset, and reinstalled the channel and programming bins that I had saved prior to the problem and problem is persisting. I was sitting on 148 last night, tried to move to another bird (AMC 6 I think), and that's when I just ended up sitting and sitting in the black... I tried to change satellites a few times this morning and ran outside after doing so - looks like the dish is still setting in one spot. I haven't had time to climb on the roof. May do that in a little while.

I have run in to the ERROR problem you are talking about before... but PSB and Iceberg said that problem was related to tp overload... sure enough, they were right. Restoring things with a saved bin file on sd card helped out as did wiping out a lot of tps after blind scanning.

I guess there's only x amount of memory to store tps in the pansat 3500 so after you reach the limit, you are screwed and will see errors... Also, after playing around with channel master a little, I came to realize, the channel bin files can only have a max of 100 birds stored in them... So I'm guessing the max is 100 birds and some odd number of tps on each - have no idea what the actual number of tp storage limit is, but it doesn't seem to be too high.... maybe 20-50?

Simple as it may seem ..my brand new system is same as yours and my switch died..brand new coolsat switch...well one port...i convinced myself it was the motor too...$8 fix...... check the simple stuff...sry if i missed the same suggestion in other replies :) Oh yeah...after i reset the motor all the 1.2 positions had to be restored

Could be the switch. I did put some electric tape around it and used some sillicone to seal that. The sillicone was clear, so it could be acting as a magnifying glass burning it up?...

I'll fiddle with it all later bypassing the switch and see what happens. No time at the moment. Got a lot of other stuff going on - my sister in law is getting married this weekend, and it's starting to look like my wife is going to have to have a gallbladder surgery...
