I hope that was installed over the eave (overhang) and not over a living space!

Did you call for the dish to be re-aimed and installed correctly? Looks like an installer didn't properly install the footplate into a rafter tail or a backing. I would request a supervisor review. Looks like the local installer is lacking a necessary skill set or wasn't properly trained!

I spoke directly to the orby rep out in California. He said that he and his boss were both appalled and they said that they were taking Mas-Tec off of my project and sending out one of their own orby techs to do a comple re install

Their own tech? Mastec is promoted as the Orby installation partner. Who else would Orby be sending?

Good luck with the reinstall! Let us know the company that the new installer is subcontracting for.

Why is that?

They're entering an already saturated market with a high entry pricepoint and promising big subscriber numbers and breakeven points that don't seem realistic at a time when DBS sales and installs are declining in the entire industry. They're late to the party!

How did the reinstall go? Was the tech an Orby TV employee?
I sent pics to the local Mas-Tec field supervisor. He showed them to his bosses, who removed the lousy tech from any future installs, and sent 2 supervisors out to do the install that morning. When they got here, the supervisors were besides themselves on such a bad install. They had everything down, re installed and running in 57 minutes. I called the orby rep to let him know the status. So far everything working great as it should
