Recently I have been working on finding an outdoor weather enclosure for my switches. I have run into some set backs as in it being too expensive and small for what I need. One night having dinner with mom looked on the floor and seen an old PC tower sitting on the floor. I got an idea why I can I use an old PC tower for an outdoor weather enclosure seal it up the right and have a space for your switches for very cheap. Here are some pics.

I was planing on painting it fire orange and saying danger high voltage on it if I paint it brown the apartment complex might think it's theirs. I got the tower for free from a coworker that owns a computer store.

Interesting idea.Should give you plenty of space inside.
I planted a scrap piece of 4" PVC pipe vertically in front of my dish.My idea is to loop the cables up the pipe to the switch/connectors near the top, then down and back out. With a removable PVC cap on top.I have not finished it yet.Still have everything crammed in a plastic bag and hanging on the pole.

I considered some waterproof junction boxes. You're right...they are expensive!

My latest found dish (12 footer) has a bottomless junction box built onto the mount.Everything just gets hung up in there.Real wasp resort!

I've used Primex boxes (grey cable/tel service boxes), rubbermaid containers, and old security alarm boxes for satellite and network switches.
