Hello, does anyone know what is covered on the Sony PS3 out of warranty service. I know that there is a $149.99 service fee. Ex. will they replace a missing media cover/door, will they repair a PS3 if the warranty seal was broken? There are alot of good buys on ebay and I want to make sure I don't get a lemon.

For $150 they should replace whatever that needs to be fixed. I wouldn't worry about the warranty seal since it's already out of warranty anyway.

If the seal is broken or if the unit appears to be neglected or abused, they will not service it. I sent mine in and that was the first thing they told me.

"Neglected?" Depending on their definition of that there could be tons of PS3 owners who fit THAT criteria <ending fake fanboy joke>

Yeah they don't want to deal with boxes that have been "self-serviced."
