remember that 811 is not a dvr just hd. you can buy a 811 for 200 on ebay and such if you rent it it will cost almost the same plus you have to pay rental fee.
now i love the dvr i would not have tv without it. its so handy just to pause tv. but i heard with the 811 you would have to get another receiver when mpeg4 comes out.
but i figure those voom channels are worth it if you can afford it

They didn't charge me anything to lease the 811. They said that will give you up to 4 receivers for 4 different TV rooms. I think I have to pay a $5.00 mirror charge, but as I understand it, that is it. I think this offer is only for new customers, though.
