If I bought a TV (such as the Vizio VW32L) and it states it has a QAM tuner am I gonna see the HD local channels without a box? I know this has been asked before, but I am still confused. I am in the Twin Cities area. Since this is a wall mount I would love to leave the HD box out of it. Thanks!

You should get all the unencrypted channels, your local major networks, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, your PBS and maybe the CW. Everything else, like ESPN, MHD, UHD and the like are encrypted and you need a box for those.

Thanks for the info! I did get exactly what you stated. I ended up getting another Moto HD DVR box since I could not get ESPN HD without it. Oh well. A Cablecard slot would have been nice. but they are hard to find. Thanks again.
