Is it mandatory or required to give each satellite a motor position number when using USALS

With the microHD, the motor position number is only referenced in the DiSEqC 1.2 mode. USALS calculates and issues an offset position from the motor's saved "0" position. With the positioner type set to USALS any saved motor positions are ignored.

Sorry, unable to assist with that satellite as we are out of the footprint in NorCal.
I should put 78W Simon Bolivar C-band on my DX list.
You are trying to lock it on C-band correct? I don't think that KU has much of a footprint outside of Central America and Southern Caribbean.
