question about new account + few other ?

My account will expire in August and I am moving that month. I have had DTV for 8 years under my wife name.. Can/should I get a new account under my name at my new address to get new equipment and free install?

Which HD receiver will support RF and IF remote control. I need this for my slingbox.

You could likely open an account in your name with no issues. Sometimes using the same address with a different name is problematic, but since you are moving it should be okay. All of the Directv hd receivers/dvrs work in ir and rf mode.
