If you have a motorized setup (with blindscan receiver), do you still have to know the different TPs? Is there any particular moment where you will have to manually put in the information.
not really, but manual entry can speed things up, especially on some of the slower scanning birds like the echostars, or satellites that have a lot of data tps that cause some receivers to hang a long time (infinite in some cases) while blind scanning.
There are times when a blind scan may not pick up a particular transponder. If you see it listed somewhere, like lyngsat, and a blindscan doesn't pick it up. It could be gone, they come and go all the time. Or you may want to then do a manual scan to see if it will pick it up?
