I am not sure if this had been mentioned but each time you remove, move, swap, replace cables your receiver should be unplugged from the wall outlet.

Power travels through all that RG6 and performing tasks with the units plugged in can cause damage if I am not mistaken.

In fact whenever performing any cable moves on ANY type of A/V gear you should remove them from the power source.
 
Point well taken charper... I didn't know that... Hopefully someone will still read my questions in the prior posts and advise me on potential next steps...

No prob, just making sure that you have not shorted out anything; if you have any bad parts, or have damaged them, troubleshooting here might have just become useless; calling a certified local tech might have become the best bet. I am not saying to stop seeking help here, but calling a tech may help you today and all answers here assume all parts are in working order.
