I was wondering if the caller id part of the voom receiver would still work on a voom box used for OTA reception? or was this part of the satellite side of it? Basically i have a Voom receiver i purchased off ebay and was wondering if i hooked it up to a phone line would it show the caller id info on my TV screen?

I think it would work. I don't see how not having a satellite feed would have any effect on caller ID

Caller ID function does indeed work......

The Caller ID function is part of the phone line jack input only. It was never coming from the satellite at all. I've got two receivers that still display the caller ID information anytime someone calls me.
