I have done some searching and didn't really find an answer to my questions. I currently have Directv and am ready to make the switch to Dish.

Can they use my existing coax and not have to run new?
With the dual receiver that works 2 tv's how is the connection made to the 2nd tv?

Thanks in advance.

They can use the same coax. When I went from Directv to Dish, they just replaced the dish. Though... they may have changed the coax in the home, not outdoors though.

The connection to the second room can be via coax cable or RCA red/white/yellow cable. I use the RCA as I had the extra cable and the 2nd tv's were close enough. If the second tv is further away, you may need to send the second coax back outside the home and to the other room. If you have a basement or a way to run cables under the floor, that would be more convenient.

No problemo.

As an aside, I was with Directv for several years and was really happy with their service. I got the DVR and had some problems pop up here and there, but overall, it was good and near hassle free for about 8 years.

I switched to Dish because I could get more programming that I was aiming for, at a lower price. Their 625 DVR was nearly flawless and I haven't had any regrets moving to Dish.

Of course, with all things, that is my personal experience and your mileage may vary. Good luck.
