ok ive been trying to get my direct tv installed for like 2 weeks now all the trouble with that coming later but...

I was reading on here the you need superfan to watch games on the ST in HD now I was told by one of those sales rep (which i know sales reps lie all the time) that has long as i had hd i would get the games in hd. so am i misunderstanding or do i really need superfan?

Also another thing I have had about 3 diff techs to my apt to try and install this dish. One tech says the tree is blocking the signal and after that i will be fine(hd dish by the way) says tree is blocking about 3 sattellites. Well I battle with my apt and finally get the tree trimmed down so I reschedule and next tech comes out.

Now this tech says there is no way even with the tree trimmed to get the service says about two satellites being blocked due to the eave(well gee why didnt the first guy tell me this). Ok so they send out another tech for a third opinion this guy says he could probably do it but the signal may be off and on. They all see they could easily get it done with a reg. non HD rcvr of course.

So now basically im going to try and clear the eave I was planning on attaching an eave mount to the balcony and having it shoot over the eave, but the fiance wanted a more subtle approach.

So she ordered this wall mont wm200 to be exact and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and if it could sufficiently hold the weight of the HD dish?

Yes you need superfan for HD to get ST games in HD. Sucks, but that is how the deal is as of now. Many disagree with this. Me included.

As to your other question, I do not know what to tell you. Can you post pictures?

First of all, WELCOME to the Site :)

IF you want to get the NFL Sunday Ticket in HD, you WILL need the Super Fan package as well.
Sometimes they will give it to you free, if you ask nicely, other times NOT.

This is NOT the same as the HD fee D* charges for getting HD on the D* service, that fee covers all the channels that D* transmits in HD that you pay for.
Think of the Sunday Ticket as a separate entity, all by it's self, all charges are separate.

IF your installer says he can get the SD channels only, tell him to TRY HARDER.
The SD channels come from the 101 sat and the HD comes from the 99 and 103 says, only 2 degrees apart, this should be able to be done if he says you can get the SD fine.

I don't know anything about the wall mount your talking about .... do you have a model number or a link to one ?
The HD dish is the Slimline and they should be able to use the new 3 lnb one.
It is a bit heavier than the older ones.

ok guess I will have to call them and add the SF(love the feeling of being lied to).

no pics as of yet i can get picks once i get off work but for now i can just give the specs of the mount.

weighs about 5lbs. and extends out 23in just about enough to clear the eave. The only thing bad is apparently the holes dont line up with the new hd dish so would have to hopefully get the installer to drill custom holes. Also really just unsure if that thing could hold the dish.

just some pics of how the mount functions. only difference is ours would be extending from the balcony so wouldnt be shooting over the eave like that.

I would think that as long as the mount went into solid support, you should be fine.

hello and thanks for the welcome :D

ok wont let me post link because of some spam thing about 3 posts or more so let me just get my post total up

ok ya it would be going to a nice strong structure on the building.
Just weird the first guy seemed like he could get if off the tree was just blocking the signal, but then the next guy wouldnt even touch it for fear of the eave. So i would hope this works.

The pic's you have up are DISH dishes, your changing to D* ?

Also, is a pole mount out of the question ?

an you give us a pic of the direction the dish is to be pointing, how close is the trees in question and how high.
The sat signal comes from a much higher angle than the mast points, so if your clear up higher, you should be good, but if your trying to point thru a window of trees, you'll have difficulty.

sorry those arent my pics just pics i found on the net to give a rough idea of how the mount works. Ya I will provide actual picks once i get off work. Clearing the tree is no longer an issue its been trimmed the only issue in question now is the eave.

Its a very open area (now that the tee is trimmed) its just the second and kind of the third tech was worried about an eave that would be blocking the signal from about 2 or 3 satellites. With there mount he said the dish wouldnt completely clear the eave enough to hang off our balcony.
