Quick Question on the HR34

i know i need the SWM dish but, does HR34 come with on On Demand? and can i it without getting the whole - home - setup? thanks

On demand is a feature that's available to all HDDVRs and R22's and the whole home is not a requirement

yes it does. I have only the HR34 on the account so I can't get whole home

well, last Saturday i went to my first Casino and won $600, and today its gone! with my purchased of the HR34, they are coming Sunday so, tonight/tomorrow i will watch everything on my dvr

If you want on demand you are going to need the cinema connection kit. Which you might have to pay for. Ask the installer if he can hook you up with one

He may have another receiver. I know they said you could hook up the cable to the 34 and be fine but that's being an issue now

Could you expand on that being an issue, I hooked my HR34 up that way and eliminated the CCK and haven't noticed any problems (but don't want any to develop either).

Sometimes they start to disconnect from the other receivers like the other HDDVRS do when you connect a cat 5 cable to them. Not always but a lot of service calls in my area have been caused by this for some reason. I end up unhooking it and adding either a wifi deca or a broadband deca

OK, I have had times where it stops showing content from my other HR24s or vice versa. A reboot of the HR34 has always resolved it, I figured it is just software related - one of the many HR34 bugs that are lingering way too long in my opinion.

Do you have SWM already? It's prolly going to be a plug in play if you do

I agree, the 34 has been out way too long and they haven't really done much to help the stability of it

If there are any other receivers on the account everything gets changed over to SWM...and depending on how many receivers are on the account they may need a SWM16

The SWM8 splitter can support 8 tuners...you already got 5 with the HR34

Still should just be a matter of swapping the LNB and putting in a power inserter and being done

It has already been established that there is only one receiver in the residence. Hutch1814 pretty much covered the whole install.
