Rather's HDNet News Program Set for Nov. 14 Debut
Dan Rather goes hi-def Nov. 14 when the weekly "Dan Rather Reports" debuts on Mark Cuban's HDNet. He's as excited about that as a kid embarking on a year in which every day will be Christmas. He does not sound like a man who turned 75 on Halloween and just embarked on his most no-frills job in more than 44 years. He sounds like a man having fun for the first time in years. Full Story>

Its about time... I am sick of the ads talking about him coming to HdNet in October! :D

Seriously, looking forward to see what he does.

Caught the show and enjoyed it.

It got quite a bit of national coverage, just go to Google News and search on Dan Rather. Articles in the Washington Post, MSNBC, NY Times, and several other media outlets. The NY Times story was very complimentary of the first program.

The WaPo story tells about how Mark Cuban has given Rather complete control over the program, no oversight by anyone at HDNET. And they built new offices for him and his staff in New York City.

There is only one new program a week, but HDNET is running it in multiple time slots during the week.

Just caught this for the first time. Kind of like a 20/20 or Primetime; but the stories I saw on Prince William Sound in Alaska and problems with grizzlies in Montana were pretty good. And they made for great feature new in HD.
